Padres fan injured after Hector Sanchez’s bat goes into the stands

In the ninth inning, Padres catcher Hector Sanchez lost hold of his bat and it went flying into the stands. The bat hit a nearby fan in the head and the game was temporarily on hold until medical staff treated the fan for injuries. The staff bandaged her head and walked her away from her seat.

The presumption has been, by and large, that that new goalie would come from free agency, and that’s certainly the most likely outcome. Within the context of this exercise, the question becomes whether there’s a team out there that looks like it might lose a good goalie in expansion, and whether they’d be willing to deal one to the Flyers before that happens. It’d have to be one who’s not under contract for a whole lot longer, but there may be some options.

What can they do? The list of teams that have obvious expansion-related goalie targets isn’t long, but it’s out there.

The most talked-about example is in Pittsburgh, where Marc-Andre Fleury’s NMC is standing in the way of their protecting Matt Murray, but again, a deal with the Flyers will never happen there anyways.

Detroit will probably expose Jimmy Howard, and while he’s old (33) and kind of expensive ($5.29 million cap hit per year), he’s only under contract for two more seasons and is coming off of a strong albeit injury-plagued season, and perhaps you could get Detroit to hold some salary in a trade for him.

Elite Youth Phillip Dorsett Jersey Jaroslav Halak will be available from the Islanders, and while he’s coming off of a down-year, he’s had good flashes in the not-so-distant past and is only under contract for one more season. Current backups in places like San Jose, Washington, and Boston could be worth a dice roll, as well.

The Packers led off the round when they took Kevin King

While his talent is undeniable, questions about his NFL career persist. The defensive lineman has arthritis in his shoulders, a condition neither Allen nor his doctors are particularly concerned about affecting his career.

The previous 16 teams who passed up on Allen could live to regret passing up the former Alabama standout in due time; it’s not often you hear someone described as “what would happen if Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett and Buccaneers three technique Gerald McCoy had a baby.”

Allen has the talent and wherewithal to start from day one. No matter where he lands in Washington’s rotation, he’ll carry himself well. Allen’s leadership was well documented at Alabama, and he’s been an ambassador for the program even after playing his final snap for Nick Saban.

The Packers led off the round when they took Kevin King, the cornerback from Washington. The Browns finally got their quarterback, taking DeShone Kizer from Notre Dame with the 52nd pick.

The third round featured a full 43 picks, compared to just 32 spots for the previous two rounds. That’s because teams have compensatory picks starting in the third round. These are the picks tacked onto the end of each round as a compensation for the free agents they lost the year before.

The draft wraps up April 29 with the final four rounds, officially concluding when the Denver Broncos name 2017’s Mr. Irrelevant with the 253rd pick of the event.

LSU’s Malachi Dupre could be a 7th round steal for the Packers

Malachi Dupre found a spot in the 2017 NFL Draft, getting selected by the Green Bay Packers just a handful of selections before the end of the seventh round with the No. 247 selection.

During the former blue-chip’s three-year stint in Baton Rouge, he only hauled in 98 passes for 1,609 yards and 14 touchdowns, numbers nearly matched in 2016 alone by Western Michigan’s Corey Davis and Clemson’s Mike Williams, who are considered the draft’s top two prospects.

The incident occurred in May of 2013, and Washington pleaded guilty in April of 2014. Washington allegedly pushed the woman with two hands, causing her to fall and break her collarbone.

He missed the entirety of 2014 due to a suspension for multiple violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Washington’s suspension was considered indefinite, with the player needing to petition the NFL for reinstatement in May 2015. The league was waiting until that point to address the domestic violence issue. Washington told Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910 that he had not failed or missed a drug test during his suspension last year.

Washington also missed four games in 2013 for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, which contributed to the length of his punishments.

Limited Kids Portland Trail Blazers Jersey Now Washington is 30 and hasn’t played for the Cardinals since the 2013 season, meaning it could be an uphill climb for the linebacker to ever make a roster again, let alone make an impact.

Limited Kids Roy Miller Jersey Early in his career, Washington looked like he would be a star in Arizona after the team took him in the second round in 2010. He was an instant starter and a Pro Bowler in 2012 with nine sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles, until trouble derailed his promising career.
